
Carol De Souza, MSEd
Born in Brazil and raised in Bolivia, Carol is intimately familiar with the challenges of being an immigrant, and navigating U.S citizenship and language barriers, especially as English is her second language. Carol is deeply committed to addressing these challenges and their impact on mental health. Drawing from both her lived experiences and educational background, Carol is passionate about empowering others to live well and be the best version of themselves, offering services in both English and Spanish.

Carol is a Graduate Counseling Intern under the clinical supervision of Carlita L. Coley, LPC. She began her professional journey as a high school teacher before transitioning into mental health counseling to better support the emotional development of youth and young adults. Through her internship with Melanin Mental Health and Wellness, Carol is gaining valuable experience integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive and Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and Mindfulness to help clients overcome trauma and manage anxiety and depression.
