Chyanne Cuevas, MSEd

As an only child, Chyanne understands the importance of friendships and social connections, and the challenges that come with not knowing how to develop those supports.  As a Navy wife in an interracial marriage,  she understands the challenges of frequent moves and social stigmas associated with loving someone of another race.  Her lived experience, coupled with her education guides her desire to help others develop a strong sense of self and learn healthy ways to manage life's stressors.  

 

Education:

 Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida

Master’s Degree in Education from the University of San Diego

Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University

Experience:

​Chyanne is Virginia Resident-in-Counseling under the clinical supervision of Carlita L. Coley, LPC. She began her professional career as a middle school teacher before transitioning into mental health counseling to better address and support the emotional development needs of youth and young adults.  She has experience with Applied Behavioral Analysis, and uses a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Play Therapy to help with PTSD, mood disorders, anxiety, and substance abuse disorders. â€‹â€‹â€‹
